Declaration of Indepeendence

1) The rationalist thought that all men were created equal. It is “self-evident, that all men are created equal."
2) They believed that they had unalienable rights. "Endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights."
3) They believed that if government tried to violate these rights the citizens could overthrow the government. "Whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it."

These are rationalist thoughts because, the puritans believed that not everybody was born with rights and we should leave that alone, they thought that God chose who he waned to be head of the government and anybody who went against it was going against his will, and they did not think that everybody had rights and we didn’t' have the right to interfere with that.
