the Legend of Sleepy Hollow

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a great example of romanticism. Romanticism makes you use your mind just like rationalism does, but it also makes you use your imagination to which is in a way a step ahead. Not just relying on your scientific thoughts to entertain you. This made this type of thinking very popular because people in some ways grew board of the old ways.

While reading The Legend of Sleepy Hollow I was forced to use my imagination of a "headless horseman" ridding through the night, an ancient "Indian medicine doctor holding powwows with spirits", and a place that puts you in something like a dream world state of mind as soon as you "inhale the air" . These are things that you don't see on an everyday basis and so you have to imagine these things. It kept me on the edge of my seat trying to see what happened next and held my attention for quite a while. When it comes to romanticism this story is every bit of it. How many times do you see a headless horseman ridding anywhere? You don't its something that you have to use your imagination to to expierence and thats what romantocism is.
